Mike Nock's reflections

The native New Zealander Mike Nock lived in the USA for 25 years and since his return to Australia is a sought-after teacher, as Noel Mengel reports ( The Courier Mail , Australia). He sees himself as a mentor, the pianist says, or as some might say as a tormentor. He tries to show the students "how to follow your heart and your passion and survive and not do too badly".

"Music is more than scales and chords, there is another level, which is life. These days people have to multitask so much that they don't have enough time to listen to music. Which is sad as music is such a positive force," says Nock.
