Les Paul performs in his hometown

Guitarist Les Paul, a living legend, performed in his home town Waukesha, Wisconsin, as Emily Fredrix reports ( San Francisco Chronicle ). He had not played the city in decades, the 91 year old explained. The notes he missed over the years of his career he is saving for his next album, Paul joked on stage. At a press conference he reminisced how he helped develop the electric guitar in the 1940s after someone in the audience complained that he should play louder. From 1952 guitar-maker Gibson produced the Les Paul model which was played by many rock musicians. The ticket sale of his concert went to the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum which from 2010 plans a permanent exhibit on the town's famous son.
